More Batman with Christian Bale? Only under one condition!
It’s been a good ten years since we last saw Christian Bale as Batman in The Dark Knight Rises. Has the acclaimed actor resigned from the role entirely? There was a tiny chance – under what conditions would he slip back into the costume?
The Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises trilogy is one of the cornerstones of modern superhero films. And we owe it to one man: Christopher Nolan. The author and director has given the long-established Batman legend his very own vision, which doesn’t stick slavishly to comic book aesthetics, but remains down-to-earth visually and staging … for a film about a man in a bat suit. Batman actor Christian Bale is still a fan of Nolan’s Batman years later – and would therefore only return with him in the director’s chair.

Bale as Batman again? Only with Nolan
in the Interview with Screenrant said Christian Bale, who will soon be appearing in the Marvel film Thor: Love & Thunder, also about the Batman years of his career. He hasn’t written off the sinister hero 100 percent, but his terms are clear: “I think Chris Nolan should be like, ‘You know what, I have another story [mit Batman] to tell.’ And if he wants to share that story with me, I’d be there.” But that has never happened before.

Batman: Bale and Nolan’s Pact was only scheduled for three films
Bale even describes a deal he made with Nolan. Accordingly, the agreement between the two should have looked like this: “Okay, look. Let’s do three films if we’re lucky enough to do that. And then let’s go. Let’s not linger too long.” So the likelihood is extremely slim, although the upcoming DC movie about the fast-paced hero Flash will bring Michael Keaton back as Batman and will make use of multiverse elements. But that won’t happen without Nolan in the director’s chair – and he prefers to focus on the biopic Oppenheimer, which is dedicated to the father of the American atomic bomb program.
But how did Jim Carey put it so beautifully in Dumb & Dumber? “So that means there’s still a chance…” But what do you think? Is the trilogy about Bale’s Batman perfect as it is? Or can you definitely think of another adventure or adventures with the aged dark avenger directed by Christopher Nolan? Write us in the comments!
