NieR Automata is coming to the Nintendo Switch this fall - with bonus content!

The quirky bird of paradise among RPGs, NieR Automata, will be back in a Nintendo Switch version this fall. There is also additional bonus content to the game, including new costumes.

Nier: Automata stands for bizarre, creative ideas, a world between fantasy and sci-fi and an atmospheric soundtrack. Switch friends will also soon be able to enjoy Yoko Taro’s action RPG: According to a mini-direct from Nintendo, it’s coming on October 6th on the switches.

The new version of NieR Automata is called End of YoRHa and includes all content, DLCs and costumes that have been released for the game so far. In addition to the already known extensions, there are also new costumes on the Switch version that appear exclusively for the Nintendo console.

There is also a short trailer for the new NieR Edition from today’s Nintendo Direct Mini:

PlatinumGames and Square Enix’ NieR Automata is all about the two androids 2B and 9S, who are at war with mechanical beings in a futuristic dystopia. The world has been overrun by mechanical beings in Automata, and the humanoid automatons are now trying instead of humanity to defeat and drive out the invaders.

The NieR developers, including Yoko Taro himself, said in a live stream that no further full title to the NieR series was planned. But that wouldn’t be a reason not to catch up with Automata as a weird bird among the RPGs if you don’t know the game yet. Perhaps a hopefully well-implemented Switch version would be a good opportunity.
