Star Wars: Taika Waititi is Producing Jar Jar Binks Movie, Director Jokes
Taika Waititi is a very exciting personality when we think of the film landscape and, more recently, of Hollywood. Of the New Zealand film director With a comedy disposition, thanks to numerous appearances in front of the camera, is no longer a stranger who has been able to prove his technical skills time and time again.
He has been involved throughout his career numerous awards honored. For example, he won the special prize for his short film “Tama Tū” at the international film festival in Berlin. In 2017 he was even named New Zealander of the Year.

Last but not least, he caused a stir when he embodied the role of an imaginary Adolf Hitler in “Jojo Rabbit”. Here he won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplayas the comedy is based on a screenplay by Taika Waititi.
Taika Waititi Produces Star Wars Film
As of May 17, 2020, we know that Taika Waititi is working on a film in the star Wars-Universe works after already first Rumors surfaced in January 2020.
He recently joked during a performance Stephen Colbertthat he one Film starring Jar Jar Binks would turn. He is and remains just a prankster.

But in truth he certainly has remarkable plans. He wants to “expand the Star Wars universe with new characters” – that is, with characters that stand out from what we already know.
However, he is currently busy brainstorming and experimenting in all directions. He explains via Slashfilms:
“I’m ready. But right now it’s very early because I… haven’t even finished the script yet. I’m still brainstorming and I’m still at the point where everything is still relatively open. And when I write, I write down every idea I’ve ever had. And then I start carving it into something. But at the moment I’m throwing everything against the wall.”
He and co-author Krysty Wilson-Cairns are still in the process of looking at the direction in which the whole project is going on an ideal level. But it is definitely meant to lead into “unknown territory”:
“I think the Star Wars universe needs to expand. I don’t think I can do anything that includes the Millennium Falcon blueprint. Oh, and that’s Chewbacca’s grandmother! […] That stands for itself and that’s great. But I want to do something new. And create new characters. Just expand the world. Otherwise it feels like a very small story.”
That said, Waititi’s film is likely to stand out from series like Obi Wan Kenobi, Andor or even Ahsoka differentiate. And the story doesn’t have to have anything to do with the Skywalker saga. But what awaits us in the end remains an open secret for now.
