Pokémon GO: Spotlight Hours in July 2022 – All hours at a glance
What is the limelight hour: Each week, one of the monsters is featured in Pokémon GO. For this purpose, Niantic has come up with the limelight hour, which takes place every Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. During this time, the selected Pokémon will appear everywhere in the wild. The spawns of the Pokémon are significantly increased and so you can succeed in catching 200 copies of a Pokémon. In addition, a special bonus is active during this hour.
These are the dates in July: In July 2022, there will again be four hours of spotlight in Pokémon GO. In the following table we have listed for you when you can meet which Pokémon and what bonus it brings. All Pokemon marked with a star can also be caught as Shiny.
5th July | Ledyba* | double Catch EXP |
July 12 | mahollo* | double catch candies |
July 19th | star you* | double mailing candies |
July 26th | meditation* | double Development XP |
Pokémon GO: Spotlight Hour on July 5th with Ledyba at a glance
This is the limelight hour: The first thing you can look forward to in Pokémon GO in July is Ledyba. Catching Ledyba will give you double XP during Spotlight Hour.
Is the limelight hour worth it: Not particularly, because Ledyba is not a very strong Pokémon and you can also get the development Ledian with 25 candies. So the spotlight hour on July 5 is only worth it for the extra XP you get from catching Pokémon. So if you use another lucky egg, you can get four times the amount of XP and level up faster. The day is also worthwhile if you are still looking for a dazzling example of Ledyba.
Pokémon GO: Spotlight Hour on July 12th with Machollo at a glance
This is the limelight hour: On July 12th, Machollo awaits you in the spotlight hour. Machollo has two further stages of development with Maschok and Machomei. Each caught specimen gives twice the amount of catch candies, which means you get at least six candies per Machollo.
Is the limelight hour worth it: The limelight hour is partially worth it. With Machomei, Machollo has a fairly strong last stage of development, which is well suited for fights. So if you don’t have a Machamp yet, you can use the additional candies to quickly develop your Machollo. You also have the chance to catch a Shiny Pokémon.
Pokemon GO: July 19th Spotlight Hour Recap with Stardu
This is the limelight hour: The Water Pokémon Stardu is the focus of Pokémon GO on July 19th. Using 50 candies, you can evolve Stardu into Starmie. At Spotlight Hour, you’ll receive double Send Candies.
Is the limelight hour worth it: Sterndu is particularly interesting for shiny hunters, because the Pokémon currently appears quite rarely in the wild. But Sterndu and Starmie don’t get really strong. Otherwise, July 19 is only worthwhile for sending Pokémon. It is best to collect all the Pokémon by the deadline and then send them to the professor.
Pokemon GO Spotlight Hour on July 26th with Meditie at a Glance
This is the limelight hour: The last spotlight hour in July will be about Meditie. The Fighting Psychic-type Pokémon can evolve into Meditalis, giving it a moderate next stage of evolution. At the Spotlight Hour, you’ll get double the Development XP.
Is the limelight hour worth it: The event is only worthwhile if you want to catch a dazzling specimen of Meditie or if you are fans of PvP mode, because Meditalis is one of the best Pokémon here. The XP bonus is especially exciting for trainers who are not yet at the maximum level. To do this, you should save any Pokemon you want to evolve until the deadline and then evolve them during the spotlight hour.
You can also look forward to the Community Day with Staralili in July.
