Satanic Cults Ahead of Steam Release: What's Cult of the Lamb About?

from Michael Miskulin
A satanic cult of animals led by a lamb? That’s what awaits players in Cult of the Lamb, an indie city building game coming to Steam soon. We look at the crazy title.

When a lamb calls for the animals of the forest, what do the animals do? Exactly, they dance to the tune of the lamb and start a satanic cult. In Cult of Lamb this is the player’s task in the role of a possessed cartoon lamb. With the Steam release on August 11, 2022 imminent, let’s take a closer look at the absurd indie title.

Norland Coming Soon to Steam: What’s Medieval Kingdom Sim All About?

Cult of Lamb: A possessed lamb builds his own cult

The possessed lamb, which the player takes control of in Cult of the Lamb, was saved from destruction by a mysterious stranger. Now it must pay its debt and gather a loyal following in the stranger’s name. To do this, you found your own cult and build up a loyal forest community to spread your faith and put an end to other cults. What sounds absolutely crazy is apparently very well received by Steam users. After all, Cult of Lamb is already on #15 Most Wanted Steam Game. The funny trailer for the game gives more insights.

Graphically, Cult of the Lamb is reminiscent of the indie classic Don’t Starve with its flat sprite comic graphics in an isometric setting. In the cult simulator, the player must collect resources in the forest, construct buildings and perform sinister rituals. This is the only way to appease the dark gods and hold dark masses to strengthen the faith of your own flock. The world that wants to be explored and consists of four spooky regions is procedurally generated. It is inhabited by hordes of adversaries and rival cult leaders. When all unbelievers are purified and enlightenment spread, the Lamb can eventually become the mighty Lamb-God.
