WoW: The final season 4 of Shadowlands starts in August

We now know when the final season of WoW: Shadowlands will begin. This also marks the end of the current expansion.

World of Warcraft Shadowlands is fast approaching its end. But before we leave the shadow lands behind and move on to the next expansion Dragonflight, there is another small season 4. Blizzard wants to try new things in this one – and now we finally know that it will start as early as August.

When does season 4 start? Blizzard has officially announced the launch date for Shadowlands Season 4. This will start on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2022 and thus replace the current 3rd season.

What do you have to do now? However, the end of Season 3 also means that some titles and achievements will no longer be obtainable. If you haven’t yet earned the Mythic+ Season 3 mount, you should use the last few weeks to quickly push your own rating above 2,500.

It’s also worth stepping on the gas again for raiders. After all, you can no longer get the achievements for a timely kill of the jailer once the season has come to an end.

Season 3 PvP achievements are also disappearing and no longer obtainable, as are their rewards.

So if you still need something from any of these categories, you should use July to earn the relevant content. The exact time for the end of season 3 is August 2nd at 22:00 in the evening.

What’s different about Season 4? With the final season of Shadowlands, Blizzard wants to try out a number of innovations that primarily affect fans of Mythic + and Raids.

In the “Mythic +” area you can look forward to the biggest changes. Because here almost all Shadowlands dungeons fly out of rotation. In Season 4, only the two Tazavesh stages are still part of the season’s dungeons. All other dungeons are from previous expansions. You will then visit regularly:

  • Tazavesh: Wondrous Roads (Shadowlands)
  • Tazavesh: Soleah’s Gambit (Shadowlands)
  • Mechagon: Junkyard (Battle for Azeroth)
  • Mechagon: Workshop (Battle for Azeroth)
  • Upper Karazhan (Legion)
  • Lower Karazhan (Legion)
  • Grimrail Depot (Warlords of Draenor)
  • Iron Docks (Warlords of Draenor)

Mechagon returns as a dungeon in “M+” Season 4.

It should be even more interesting for everyone who ventures into raids. Because in Season 4, all Shadowlands raids will be relevant again! So you can make Castle Nathria, the Sanctum of Dominance or the Mausoleum of the Firsts unsafe. Each week, one of these three raids will be featured and boosted with a new raid affix. But that also means that you get interesting loot from all 3 raids.

Blizzard sees this season as experimental and wants to see how this is received by players.

How long is season 4? The final season of Shadowlands will probably last until the end of the expansion, i.e. the pre-patch 10.0. There is no fixed date for it yet, but Dragonflight should appear on December 31, 2022 at the latest. So if the pre-patch lasts 2-4 weeks, like in previous expansions, the season should end by early or mid-December at the latest.

Are you excited for Season 4? Or do you not like such “warmed up” content?
