The most important currency for Free2Play players in Diablo Immortal is running out - this is how you save properly

Diablo Immortal showers you with rewards and tons of different currencies, each serving a different purpose. One of these seemed inexhaustible at the beginning, but the influx is about to end now. You need them to buy emblems.

What currency is this? Hilt are a kind of additional currency to gold. Unlike platinum, for example, you cannot buy them directly, but only get them through playing, similar to gold.

Use Hilt to purchase special items from the special Hilt vendor in Westmarch. The currency is especially important for Free2Play players.

Why is currency so important? The dealer sometimes sells you items that you as a Free2Play player can only get in limited quantities, as well as items that actually fall under the loot limits:

  • Legendary Emblems
  • Legendary and normal gems
  • Rare emblems
  • Random legendary items
  • crafting materials
  • Magic

Many of these items can only be purchased once a month or limited per week. The Legendary Emblems and Gem are particularly important here, as they are some of the few ways to reliably get Legendary Gems for free.

What exactly the gems are all about and how you get them, you can see in the video:

Hilt are running out – this is how you save properly

Why is the currency running out? At the beginning of Diablo Immortal, as a new player, you will almost be overwhelmed with Hilt. This is because the reward for most achievements, as well as completing challenge portals, is Hilt.

However, achievements are unique or progressively harder to obtain, just like higher tier portals. This means that the longer you play, the less help you get. Later, your only reliable sources are the Battle Pass and some Shadow faction quests.

Once you’ve played through the Battle Pass, you’ll get even fewer Hilt rewards than with the regular leveling up in the pass. The upcoming update is supposed to improve the Battle Pass, but what that will look like and when it will come is still an open question.

Diablo Immortal is 1 Month Old – How is the Controversial Mobile MMO Now?

How can I save? If you have already arrived in the endgame and have completed many of the achievements, you should start buying only certain items. As the Diablo YouTuber DM: Diablo Immortal explains (via YouTube), your priority at the Hilt dealer is:

  1. The Legendary Emblem 1x per month
  2. The second Legendary Emblem if you are Immortal
  3. Rare emblems

These items are the most important to keep your grind going. You always need them to get better loot from elder portals and to improve your legendary gems, for example. This is how you improve your battle rating and your resonance, the most important factors for getting stronger.

You should only buy normal and legendary gems if you are really sure that you still have enough help left for all other important items in the coming weeks.

Legendary items aren’t worth it at all as you’d be better off just farming them. This works via the grind in dungeons, rifts or in the open world. The same goes for spells and crafting materials.

Despite the many criticisms, Diablo Immortal does have good approaches, which MeinMMO editor Benedict Grothaus would also like to see in the successor:
