New MMORPG aims to revive a popular Asia hit from 2007 – Coming in 2023 and boasts great graphics

Jady Dynasty used to be a popular Asian-themed MMORPG. It was released in 2007 and ended in 2018. Until now. The developers will release the sequel next year: World of Jade Dynasty.

In August 2021, developers Perfect World Games showed the first 4k gameplay of World of Jade Dynasty. At that time, however, there was no information as to when the MMORPG would appear in Europe. In China it went online as early as 2022.

The studio has been developing World of Jade Dynasty since 2014. Back then, the servers from the original Jade Dynasty were still online. In 2018, the developers closed the game with an unloving letter to the community.

In 2023, after 9 years of development, the sequel will appear: Jade Dynasty as a modern MMORPG. At the same time, Perfect World are working on a mobile MMO called Jade Dynasty 2.

What kind of game is this? World of Jade Dynasty is a new version of the old Asian MMORPG. Whether there are strong parallels to the original is still unclear. However, we do know that it will be set in the same universe.

The graphics, especially the environment, are very detailed and beautiful. Alpha testers compared the game to Swords of Legends, but said World of Jade Dynasty’s graphics were more appealing.

What content does it offer?

• The MMO focuses on story and PvP, but also offers PvE
• An action-packed combat system
• There are 4 seasons and a change between day and night
• An open game world

“Nice looking world but same old character design”

That’s what the community says: User on reddit celebrate current screenshots from the game world of World of Jade Dynasty. However, they criticize the character design because it looks rather boring compared to the graphically demanding world.

In addition, some users reject Perfect World as a publisher and suspect that the game will rely on Pay2Win aspects.

It is currently unclear whether the characters will be optically improved before World of Jade Dynasty appears. Likewise, whether it is based on a Pay2Win principle. We remain curious and will see next year whether the community is right in its assumptions.
