Gamescom 2022: Electronic Arts cancels the trade fair

With Electronic Arts, one of the largest publishers is missing from Gamescom in Cologne this year.

Just yesterday, Microsoft, one of the three hardware manufacturers for consoles, confirmed its participation in Gamescom. Today, however, there is another cancellation to report.

Electronic Arts, one of the world’s largest publishers of video games, will not be present with a stand in the exhibition halls in August, as GamesWirtschaft confirmed on request.

The publisher said of the cancellation: “We will not participate in Gamescom 2022. However, players will have a wealth of opportunities to experience new EA games and content through dedicated live streams and events throughout the year. We appreciate that we were able to welcome so many players to Germany at the past fairs and wish the game and KoelnMesse a great event this year.”

EA will therefore present video game news and announcements throughout the year and will use live streams, among other things, to reach players.
