Sony has released a new update for the PS5. This brings new ALLM options to automatically control console latency.

With the update to version 22.01-05.50.00, Sony brings new setting options for the Playstation 5. Because the software update now allows various settings for the ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) hold true.
ALLM is a feature of HDMI 2.1 that automatically switches connected devices to the Lowest delay (latency) mode switch. Above all, players who rely on a particularly fast reaction speed benefit from this.
The new option can be controlled in the console’s settings under “Display and video -> Video output -> ALLM”. Here you can choose between “Automatically” and “Out of” to be hit. With the former, the game automatically switches to ALLM while playing, with the latter only when games are played with VRR (variable refresh rate).
In order to be able to use ALLM on the Playstation 5, the console and screen must be connected via HDMI 2.1 be.
The update to the new firmware version of the Playstation takes place automatically in most cases. You can also do this manually in the settings under “System -> System software -> System software update and settings” or via the Sony support page be downloaded.
