Ubisoft is said to be working on several projects in the Assassin’s Creed universe at the moment. After a YouTuber claimed that the next installment in the Assassins franchise would be set among the Aztecs, well-known insider Jason Schreier chimed in and revealed that the location is said to be Baghdad.

Ubisoft’s long-running game series Assassin’s Creed is currently causing a lot of conversation again. It is rumored that the studio is working on several projects in the Assassin universe. The titles Assassin’s Creed Infinity and Assassin’s Creed Rift are often mentioned. The setting of a possible new Assassin’s Creed has now led to discussions. Because one YouTuber claims it takes the series next to the Aztecs. However, well-known journalist and insider Jason Schreier says it’s going to Baghdad.

Assassin’s Creed Rift in Baghdad with Basim?

Yesterday, insider and leaker Jeremy Penter aka “ACG” claimed that the next game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise would be set on the Aztecs. Jason Schreier then personally reported it in a Reddit post. He wrote that the next game in the series would be Assassin’s Creed Rift and that it would be set in Baghdad. After that, Assassin’s Creed Infinity would follow. And while this project would include a bunch of different games/experiences/biomes or whatever you want to call them, Schreier hadn’t heard it included anything Aztec in it.

There have been rumors about Assassin’s Creed Rift for some time, some of which Schreier himself started. It is rumored that Basim Ibn Ishaq from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will play the main role in the title. In addition, the game should appear in late 2022 or early 2023 and will differ significantly from the previous titles in the series.
