Epic Games Store: Coming week with authentic WW1 shooter

from Thilo Bayer
The next free title in the Epic Games Store promises gigantic battles on the Eastern Front of the First World War. But first things first.

It’s Epic Games Free Party again, and with that, two new titles are ready to be shipped to the library. When you look at the offers, you look forward to the coming week almost a little more, depending on your interest.

This week with two games

But let’s start with the free games for this week. Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap is now available free of charge. This is a remake of the classic Wonder Boy III The Dragon’s Trap, originally released for the Sega Master System in 1989 and then re-released for PC in 2017. The platformer has a whopping 88 percent approval on the competing platform Steam.

Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms, the second game for this week, is a strategic management game set in the world of Dungeons & Dragons that brings together characters from across the D&D multiverse. The base game is basically free, but Epic will be exclusive to the Baeloth’s Gladiators of the Black Pits Pack next week, complete with unlocks, chests and more. In the Steam competition, the title has a long-term approval of 80 percent, the release was on March 25th, 2020.

Next week also two titles

Next week there will be World War action, which of course makes you sit up and take notice in the current political situation. Originally released on 02/13/2019, Tannenberg was described as “bringing to life gigantic battles on the Eastern Front of WWI”. 64 players compete on the battlefield for control of key areas, each offering their own strategic advantage. The war between the Russian Empire, Germany and their allies aims to offer a new experience “for first-person shooter players and history buffs”. The approval of the competitor Steam is at least 87 percent.

At 78 percent, the second game for the coming week, Shop Titans, is not rated quite as well on Steam, but the title, which originally appeared for the first time on May 5th, 2020, should by no means be bad. Shop Titans is described as “the ultimate RPG shopkeeper sim”. The tasks: “Craft powerful equipment, fill your shop and sell to aspiring heroes … with a surcharge! Recruit heroes and send them on quests to collect valuable materials for crafting. There is never a dull moment,” it is written, and that actually sounds quite fun.
