One Piece fans in Japan can look forward to the upcoming theatrical release of One Piece Movie: Red be happy. The strip is supposed to run across the cinema screens there from August 6, 2022. So far, fans in Germany have had to be patient and wait until the film starts in cinemas in this country. But now, thanks to a press release from Crunchy roll finally certainty.

One Piece Red sets sail in October

When does One Piece Red start in this country? The film is scheduled to open in numerous cinemas in Germany and Austria on October 13, 2022. The premiere is two days earlier, on October 11, 2022 in Berlin. Advance ticket sales are to begin shortly, when exactly is not known.

The movie will run in both the original Japanese version with German subtitles and the German dubbed version. The seven songs that appear in the film are to remain untouched and in the original Japanese version. There is also a matching new trailer:

Unfortunately, it is not yet known in which cities the film will be shown. So we have to wait for better or worse until advance ticket sales start and we get more information.

Uta sings herself into the hearts of her fans

What is One Piece Red about? The film revolves around Princess Uta, who lives on the music island of Elegia and is probably the most popular singing diva in the whole world. At their first live concert, not only the Straw Hat Pirates gather, but also the Navy and other pirate crews.

But what many do not know: She is the daughter of the pirate emperor Shanks. This is a former crew member of Shanks and has known Luffy since his childhood. It is also he who gave Luffy his straw hat and lost his left arm to protect Luffy from a sea king.

One Piece Red: New trailer shows more of the film

It is still unclear what Uta’s intentions are. The film’s description states that she sings of a “new era” in which everyone should be happy. But whether her voice brings “eternal happiness or endless imprisonment” will only be revealed in the film.

The movie is supposed to be structured like a kind of musical and therefore contains more songs than the other One Piece movies. Among the composers are many well-known talents who have worked on the soundtrack for Attack on Titan or the seventh opening for Naruto: Shippuden, among other things.
