Released today: New “free” game for the Nintendo Switch!

Also in July, Nintendo does not disappoint its fans and releases a another great free game for the Nintendo Switch. This time it’s again a great retro classic from our own development, which can shine with an average Metacritic rating of an excellent 81. As always, the new game is available to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers available for free, an additional purchase is not necessary as long as a certain requirement is met. So the range of classic Nintendo titles is growing again with another release. Heaps of classic games on the Switch

Back in 2018, Nintendo started making it available on the Switch for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers numerous ingenious retro games classics to provide at no additional cost. Nintendo (so far) has served the platforms NES, SNES, MegaDrive and N64. More could be added in the future, for example gameboy or gamecube, as is always rumoured.

Nintendo releases at fairly short intervals newcomers for the retro libraries, again with one today game hit from days gone by, which was first published in 2000.

This is the new game for the Switch!

Nintendo fans get this time Pokémon Puzzle League for free on the Nintendo Switch (buy now €359.90), i.e. without additional costs in addition to the online subscription. In the N64 classic, you will meet a number of characters from the early seasons of the Pokémon anime, i.e. Ash Ketchum, Professor Oak and Co., and of course iconic Pokémon such as Pikachu and Meowth.

In Pokémon Puzzle League you have to line up colored tiles to remove them from the field. That The gameplay is reminiscent of such titles as Tetris or Puyo Puyo. At the multiplayer you can compete directly against your friends, which is just as possible on the Nintendo Switch as it was on the Nintendo 64.

Pokemon Puzzle League was well received when it was released around 22 years ago for the Nintendo 64 and appeared at the wedding of the first Pokémon hypes, which at that time had gripped the whole world and also Germany.

This is how you get the new game on the switch

In order to be able to play the game on your switch without making a purchase, i.e. without additional costs, you need a Subscription to Nintendo Switch Online including the expansion pack. Nintendo charges around 40 euros per year for this. If you decide on a family subscription, you have to shell out around 70 euros a year, but up to eight players can use the subscription at the same time.

To pay the fee for Nintendo Switch Online, you have several payment options: prepaid cards, credit card or PayPal. Just make sure that you complete the subscription with the expansion pack. With the “small” half-price subscription, you can access the NES and SNES classics, but not the Nintendo 64 library.
