RoboCop: Rogue City: Appointment + Gameplay from the First Person Shooter

Video games to Robocop? There was! However are most of them three decades ago and now completely forgotten. It’s time to catapult the tin can into a new era and finally give it a game worthy of the license. Developer Teyon took on the job, having already proven with the surprisingly good Terminator: Resistance that you can conjure up atmospheric action games even on a small budget. Robocop: Rogue City will also be a film-licensed first-person shooter and is not based on the 2014 remake. Instead, it returns to the brutal cult flick from 1987, with director Paul Verhoeven caused a stir at the time. While Rogue City tells a brand new story, it proudly wears the film template: In order to capture the style and atmosphere, you could even Actor Peter Weller on board, who took on the role of Alex Murphy in the first two Robocop films. In the game his voice will be heard and of course the hero will also wear his distinctive facial features. There is a first foretaste in the gameplay trailer (tip for the film fans among you: watch the video until the end!)

You can expect gunfights from the first-person view, but you should also be able to explore futuristic Detroit – in whatever way. It is not clear from the announcement whether this means only marked out locations or an open-world approach. But this detail is interesting: The game should also have multiple-choice dialogues, and you should also be able to decide for yourself to a certain extent how to fulfill your mission objectives. Will you maybe even be able to influence the story? Even in Terminator: Resistance you could make small decisions in a few places.

Robocop: Rogue City is scheduled for release in June 2023. The PC version will be sold through Steam and the Epic Store. On Steam and on PSN you can already reserve the game.
