Destiny 2 is getting a new skill class soon – will it soon be dark for the Guardians?

It has long been known and confirmed that Destiny 2 will soon have a new skill class. Season 17 now revealed new ideas and theories about what class of darkness it could be and, above all, why it can mean the end of light. MeinMMO summarizes the latest ability leak and theories for you.

Even before the start of “The Witch Queen” the keepers dreamed of a new, fifth grade. But first, Bungie curbed that enthusiasm. So Joe Blackburn, the current game director, explained that while a new ability class is indeed in the making, it will not be released with Witch Queen.

As a Guardian in Destiny 2 you have special abilities, the so-called focus or class ability. Each Warden, whether Warlock, Hunter, or Titan, has their own set of specialized Super, Grenade, Melee, and Class Ability moves. Each focus is also divided into 3 subclasses and is often useful cooperatively.

There are currently 4 different classes, each based on a specific element.

• The three light classes arc (electricity), solar (fire) and void (anti-matter) are in the game right from the start.

What theory was discovered? In Season of the Haunted, Destiny 2 uses spores to spread a nasty infestation. The Egregore Plant has not only infested the Glycon and Forsaken Leviathan, but has now infested the Vanguard Operations Center as well.

Whoever then collected all the Calus Bobbleheads was rewarded with the “Eidolon Ghost Shell”. Their lore entry suggests that Destiny 2’s new ability class may be rooted in this very Egregore growth.

Why specifically Egregore? In Season 17, Eris Morn has been researching and even experimenting with egregore plants for some time. She notes that Egregore is a manifestation of darkness similar to Stasis. Precisely this hint implies that this is a new power of darkness that could perhaps even be harnessed.
