Credit can only be topped up until August 29, 2022.

The eShop will remain in place for the foreseeable future, so players can still download titles and DLCs they’ve already purchased. Servers for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games will also remain online.

Interestingly, one game will disappear from Nintendo eShop before March 27th. Fire Emblem Fates will no longer be sold as of February 28, 2023. However, the accompanying DLC will remain available until March 27th.

As Eurogamer reports, there was a section in the Q&A section of the notice about whether Nintendo will make classic titles accessible in a different form by closing the eShop.

“Our Nintendo Switch Online membership plans currently have over 130 classic games available in growing libraries for various legacy systems. New features such as online modes are often added to the games. We think this is an effective way to bring classic content to a easily accessible to a wide range of gamers. In these libraries, new and veteran gamers alike can find not only games they remember or have heard of, but also other fun games that they may not have known about. We currently have no plans to offer classic content in any other way.”
