YouTuber offers €19,500 in prize money – you just have to do it in Halo 2, which nobody has managed to do in 18 years

YouTuber Charlie “Cr1TiKaL” White Jr. is offering $20,000 if you play through Halo 2: Anniversary. But on the highest level of difficulty and with all sorts of options that make the game even harder. So far nobody has managed to do that.

This is the challenge:

  • Cr1TiKaL runs a large channel on YouTube with over 10 million subscribers. He shows all sorts of things there, including games like Pokémon Unite.
  • The YouTuber offered $5,000 a few weeks ago if someone could complete Halo 2: Anniversary in the perfect “LASO”. It stands for Legendary, All Skulls On.
  • After no response, the YouTuber offers $20,000 and says, “Come and get my money!”

You have to do this: LASO is considered the toughest challenge in Halo 2 ever. You not only play on the highest level of difficulty “Legend”, but also make the game even more difficult for yourself.

There are “Skulls” found throughout the game that add various modifiers when you activate them. These include, for example, deactivating the HUD, invisible weapons or a mode in which shields only recharge after a melee hit against opponents.

That alone is considered enormously challenging among fans of the game. In addition, Cr1TiKaL also requires that you play perfectly, i.e. not die once. That is now almost impossible.

In addition, Cr1TiKaL’s challenge stipulates that a certain skull must not be active, which actually gives an advantage: invisibility. So the challenge is not only almost impossible, but simply diabolical, as the YouTuber himself says.

By the way, the prize money is only for the first person to complete the challenge.

“0 people did it in 18 years”

According to Cr1TiKaL, the task is possibly the toughest challenge that currently exists in gaming. Halo 2 was released back in 2004 and since then not a single person in the world has been able to complete the challenge.

In 2020, the Halo 2 Anniversary Edition remaster was released and brought the game back to the screens of many gamers. Still, no one attempted the challenge.

Cr1TiKaL thought there just wasn’t enough motivation – so he offered a “bounty” for it. But this didn’t work:

All we’ve seen coming out of it so far is insanity. This broke some people’s spirits, souls were shattered. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the runners are now addicted to hard drugs only to forget they even attempted this challenge.

In the 3 weeks of the challenge, many have tried to do it, but nobody has managed it so far. 99% of people wouldn’t have even mastered the first level, 80% – including Cr1TiKaL itself – not even the first room.

Cr1TiKaL wants to watch “history being made”. But it looks like he’ll have to wait a while for that. Maybe one of you will make it and secure the YouTuber’s coal.
