PS Plus: Games in August 2022 – release, rumors and speculation

The new month of August is just around the corner. As usual, there are “free” games for PS5 and PS4 that you can subscribe to and lots of rumors about what they could be. MeinMMO shows you the schedule and which games could be included in PS Plus in August 2022.

What is the schedule? PS Plus’ June is a little different than usual. On the one hand, because the games will not be announced until later. On the other hand, because the switch to the new PS Plus is pending. But first the dates:

• PS Plus: Games available from Tuesday 02 August
  • According to experience around 12:00 noon
• Possible announcement: Wednesday 27 July
  • Unveiling of the games often around 5:30 p.m

What games could come in August? Shortly before the official announcement, there are again a lot of rumors about which games could come free for PS Plus Essential. Aliens: Fireteam Elite

Shooter Aliens: Fireteam Elite is getting a major expansion called Pathogen in August 2022. And it’s not the first time addons or games have been released alongside PS Plus.

A Call of Duty game

About once a year you will find a “Call of Duty” game in PS Plus, which you can play for free. One option here would be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019). Because the sequel or the successor should appear on October 28, 2022.

NBA 2K

NBA 2K is an annual basketball simulation based on the North American professional basketball league, the NBA. You can create teams and players and compete against other people.

In PS Plus July 2021, Sony had made NBA 2K20 available free of charge for subscribers at the time. So it would not be unlikely if the successor would appear free of charge in PS Plus in August 2022.

Hot Wheels Unleashed – PS5, PS4

Hot Wheels Unleashed is a racing game that was released on September 30th, 2021. You race through a colorful toy world and can let off steam with a track editor and create new tracks.

The game itself has received many good reviews but has been criticized for monetization. About a year after the release, many believe that the racing game could get a decent player boost from PS Plus.

What does PS Plus bring? The subscription is important if you want to use multiplayer on your PlayStation. Because few games open online mode without PS Plus.
