In the latest quarterly report, Ubisoft announced the launch of Avatar – Frontiers of Pandora postponed to the fiscal year 2023-24, i.e. the title will no longer be published in parallel with the start of James Camerons Movie Avatar – The Way of Water appear in December of this year, but in April 2023 at the earliest.

Frontiers of Pandora is created at The divisiondeveloper Massive Entertainment and, according to Ubisoft, should fully exploit the potential of next-gen technologies. The announcement trailer featured detailed flora, fauna, mechs, and riding and flying scenes reminiscent of the first film. Gameplay, on the other hand, has not yet been revealed.

At an investor conference in the context of the quarterly report, it also became known that Ubisoft had scrapped several projects. Including the Battle Royale game Ghost Recon Frontline, in which 100 players were supposed to compete against each other on large maps including vehicles, but the announcement of which was not well received by the fan base. Likewise, the previously exclusive to Meta Quest in development Splinter Cell VR no longer see the light of day. Ubisoft decided to take this step because of the “uncertain economic situation” and instead wants to focus more on its biggest developments, according to the Chief Financial Officer Frederick Duguet.
