iPhone 14 Pro should get faster RAM – but also only 6 GB

According to an older rumor, the iPhone 14 Pro is said to have 8 GB of RAM. However, new information from suppliers now suggests that all iPhone 14 models will most likely have 6GB of RAM. However, the Pro models should get faster RAM.

The rumor about the 8 GB RAM in the iPhone 14 Pro, which was circulating in February 2022, is most likely wrong. As the Digital Asia (via Apple Insider) from suppliers, all iPhone 14 models are said to have 6 GB of RAM. There should still be a difference between the standard and the Pro models. While the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max will feature LPDDR4X RAM, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are expected to get the faster LPDDR5 RAM.

The differences between Standard and Pro models are getting bigger

The LPDDR5 memory in the Pro models of the iPhone 14 should not only ensure better performance, it is also slightly more energy-efficient than LPDDR4X RAM. The older RAM type was already used in a 4 GB and 6 GB variant in the iPhone 13 series.

The different RAM types are another indication that the Pro models of the iPhone will probably differ more from the standard models in the future. Already this year only the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max will receive the new A16 chip. The standard models should continue to be equipped with the older A15 chip.

With stronger hardware equipment, Apple could try to make the Pro models more attractive to buyers compared to the standard models. There are already signs of something similar with the iPhone 15. Allegedly only the iPhone 15 Pro Max will get a periscope camera.
