Steam Deck: All current reservations are set to ship in 2022, Valve says
Valve is confident that it will be able to deliver all current reservations for the Steam Deck this year.
Valve shared the good news in an update on the current status of Steam deck production.
Faster than expected
“We have good news for all customers in the reservation queue: we will be able to meet the demand for Steam Decks faster than expected,” it says.
“Many of the supply chain failures affecting the Steam Deck are gradually being cleared up and we are gradually expanding production. As a result, we are now able to produce Steam Decks faster than ever before.”
More Steam Deck news:
“We updated the reservation slots today, and everyone currently in the reservation queue will receive their Steam Deck email later this year,” the company said.
“Many customers who were in the ‘Q4 or later’ time window have been upgraded to the ‘Q3 (July to September)’ time window. All the rest are now in the ‘Q4 (October to December) time window. ‘.”
I can confirm that myself. In the past few months, I was still talking about an order after the 3rd quarter is possible, the period July to September is now displayed.
“Currently, new reservations are added to the Q4 time slot. Should this queue fill up, customers will automatically be added to the following quarter.”
Great news: Everyone who currently has a reservation can get their Steam Deck by the end of this year! We’ve cleared up supply chain issues, a bunch of folks got moved up to Q3, and all other reservations are now in Q4.
