WoW WotLK Classic: Violet Proto-Drake
In the second article in our series on the coolest items from the far north, we introduce you to an exotic plane that you have to work a whole year to acquire, as it is the reward for achieving success ‘What a long, strange journey…’.
If you have completed all the required achievements of the various World of Warcraft festivities of a year, you can get the exclusive Violet proto-dragon to receive. Reminiscent of primeval pterosaurs, this mount from the genus of the so-called proto-dragon is new to the WoW Classic trilogy and, unlike the other representatives (blue, green, red and time-lost proto-drake), does not require heroic exploits or great loot luck.
Its violet color is also an excellent match for the Kirin Tor mage faction in Dalaran and its secret society ‘The Violet Eye’. If the Netherwing faction’s nether dragons represent the first expansion, the Violet Proto-Drake is arguably symbolic of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, making it all the more a coveted collector’s item.
Below we have put together a complete list of all the achievements you need, including the associated events with time periods, so that you don’t forget anything on your way to the new flying mount over the course of a year. Enjoy your work!
