Update from 08/03/2022, 07:08: Even if PlayStation Direct dropped in August, you shouldn’t lose sight of Sony’s in-house factory outlet in the still young month. Given the generally prevailing replenishment situation and Sony’s drop behavior in recent months, it is quite conceivable that there could be fresh PS5 consoles at PS Direct again in August – if maybe not this week.

Update from 08/02/2022, 11:48 a.m.: The closed sale on PS Direct usually runs from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed immediately by the countdown for the open sale, if there is one. It is currently not known whether the closed sale will be extended due to the problems (it has been the case before). However, we advise paying a little more attention to PlayStation Direct from 12:00 p.m. if there really is an open sale today.

Update from 08/02/2022, 11:16 a.m.: PS Direct closed sale is reportedly experiencing technical issues. Unfortunately, the status of a potential, open sale is still unknown at the moment.

Update from 02.08.2022, 10:27 a.m.: From the looks of it, a closed sale is actually starting at 10:30 a.m. on PS Direct. It remains exciting whether there will be an open sale again afterwards (the last few times there has always been an open sale). We’ll definitely keep our eyes open for you.

Update from 08/02/2022, 08:15: We came across statements from 2 users that they should have received invitations for PS Direct yesterday (unfortunately no proof so far). If those reports are correct, there should at least be a closed invite-only sale on PlayStation Direct around 10:30am today. An open sale afterwards would also be conceivable.

Treat the whole thing with a good dose of caution, but keep an eye on Sony’s in-house factory outlet at least from the corner of your eye. So far we have not been able to verify these statements, but we are trying to clarify them as soon as possible.
