Pokémon GO: New information about the World Championship event? Leak shows 3 quests

Dataminers keep digging up new information about Pokémon GO that indicate new content in the future. Now, apparently, such a find involves an interesting quest.

What is this leak? The leak comes from the PokeMiners, who have reliably extracted information from the game’s code in the past.

They shared their latest find on the Pokémon GO subreddit TheSilphRoad (via reddit).

There are 3 new quest paths to see. They call themselves:

  • gl_branch_quest_drapion
  • gl_branch_quest_jellicent
  • gl_branch_quest_stunfisk

What is this new quest?

What could the quest be about? It is apparently a three-part quest in which you must choose a path. Similar examples are already known from the GO Fest.

“Drapion”, “Jellicent” and “Stunfisk” are the English names of three Pokémon that are particularly popular in the PvP league:

  • Piondragi
  • apocalyp
  • fluff lik

The images show that this will be Galar Flunschlik. This is currently also available from the research breakthrough.

In addition, the abbreviation “GL” is in every quest name, which is often used in the Pokémon GO context for “Great League”, i.e. the Super League.

So it stands to reason that the quest has to do with the PvP league.

When is this quest coming? So far, nothing official is known about the date, and more precise content is still unclear. However, the quest would go well with two different events in August:

  • Between August 17th and 24th, the PvP Super League including a Battle Cup will take place
  • On the other hand, the event for the Pokémon World Championships 2022, i.e. the world championship, runs between August 18th and 23rd.

It is conceivable that this quest is planned for this period. However, it should be noted that this is just a leak and nothing official. It is therefore possible that this content will appear in a completely different form or simply not at all in the game.

However, should they end up in the game and possibly bring back the Pokemon from the 3 quest paths, this might be a good way to get a good specimen of the strong PvP monsters.

What do you think? Do you have use for a PvP quest or do you avoid the Battle League anyway? Tell us in the comments!

Are you more of a fan of raids? Then the weekly raid hours might be something for you – like with the legendary Pokémon Palkia, for example.
