New World promises expedition and feature, postpones feature, promises expedition – then postpones expedition

Pretty much everything that can go wrong is going wrong in New World right now. The big summer update should bring cool new features, but it has a lot less than announced. We at MeinMMO summarize.

What was that update? Last week the big Summer Medleyfaire update came to New World. This brought with it a new event and was supposed to include the coveted dungeon finder and a new expedition.

Actually. Because the dungeon finder, one of the most anticipated features since launch, has been postponed indefinitely for the time being. This announcement came shortly after the update went live, while the patch notes on the same day said it was coming.

How did Amazon react? They formally apologized for the dungeon finder delay, but assured the players that the release of the new expedition would not be affected and that it should continue to come. The expedition was announced for a week after the release of the update.

Then, on the night of August 3rd, the developers of New World spoke up with bad news. Because shortly before the update, Amazon announced that the new expedition would also be postponed indefinitely.

Expeditions are part of the New World endgame. What else? You can see in our video:

Various issues are to blame for the delay

Why isn’t the expedition coming? In the forum the community manager Aewyn writes that unfortunately some errors became noticeable during the tests, which is why the expedition appears to be delayed. Amazon does not describe exactly what these look like at this point.

But it could be related to the daily limit for Expedition, which is unfortunately still plagued by bugs at the moment. With the last patch, the maximum number of daily dungeons that can be done was increased from 15 to 25.

The reason for this is that due to a bug, currently 3v3 PvP battles also consume your daily dungeon attempts. Amazon is currently looking for a fix for this, but it is not there this week.

What does the patch bring this week? Update 1.6.1, which was supposed to come with the new Expedition, focuses entirely on bug fixes. Here are some bug fixes that were badly affecting the gaming experience in the last few days.

Among other things, small flasks of Azoth simply could not be used. But it’s working again now, which makes the fans happy. You can find the full patch notes here newworld.com.

“You should never have announced that”

How is the community reacting? Surprisingly calm. Although fans had to be told only last week that they won’t get a Dungeon Finder for the time being, the shock of the postponed expedition doesn’t seem to be too deep-seated.

The general tenor of the users is little surprised and at most a little sad. Many also say they are glad the expedition was postponed. You would rather play a finished dungeon later than another bugged expedition like the last one. At least that’s what people seem to agree on on reddit to be united.

  • DeityVengy says: “I remember the release of Tempest [der letzten Expedition], when no bosses spawned there. So I prefer a dungeon that appears without bugs over one that comes faster.”
  • lootchase takes it with humor: “Well then, let’s just all play our new guitars.”
  • Trovski says, “Well, better postponed than released with bugs. Too bad we have to wait for the cool stuff now. They just shouldn’t have ever announced that if everything is postponed indefinitely.”
