As part of the EVO 2022 SNK has announced that it will roll back net code for the 2019 release early next year through an online update Samurai Shodown and Dragonball FighterZ from 2018 to provide. The patches created in cooperation with Code Mystics and applied to the server connection routines from The King of Fighters 15 based, should improve the playability in multiplayer by resulting input delays are transmitted through calculated predictions of the code on the server.

If the prediction is not correct, the actual input is sent, which only triggers a small “teleport” effect, which is a significant improvement over traditional delay code. After all, in fighting games it often comes down to a fraction of a second that can make the difference between victory and defeat.

According to producer Tomoko Hiroki the patch for Samurai Shodown will be available for the PC version from Steam and Epic Games Store as well as for PS4, Xbox One and XSeries X|S. The Dragonball FighterZ update is only offered for PS5, XSeries X|S and PC. As things currently stand, the Switch versions of both games will not benefit from the improvements.
