Tower of Fantasy Celebrates Release, But Players Suffer – “The Wait Isn’t Fair To Me”

The anime MMORPG Tower of Fantasy finally started today, but many players are criticizing the servers. What’s behind it?

What’s wrong with the servers? Tower of Fantasy opened its doors today. However, some players are reporting on social media that they are unable to play – server problems and queues seem to be frustrating them.

This is not exceptional, New World also suffered from huge queues in 2021. Queues at Lost Ark followed in 2022, to which Amazon responded. The topic of annoying queue times was so present that we even asked you what type of queue you are.

What kind of game is this? Tower on Fantasy is a free anime-style MMORPG being developed by Hotta Studio and visually reminiscent of the Genshin Impact game.

Despite its visual similarity to Genshin Impact, Tower of Fantasy is a typical MMORPG and relies on an open game world, PvP, guilds, trade and group content and also has dungeons and numerous quests.

“I can’t play, but at least it looks good”

What did the players say about the queues? Many players wrote comments about the server issues and queues under the launch trailer on YouTube, many of which were humorous:

• RimxunYT: “I’m here waiting for the server to get stronger.”
• °-Mia-°: “Rip to all players trying to join the server, including me.”
• Ice_Cold_Sprite: “The wait isn’t fair for me!”
• Rimxun YT: “I’m here waiting for the server to get stronger because the combat system is so cool and it doesn’t lag except when the server kicks you.
• TheCheezcake Man: “The game looks good. I can’t play because the servers are full, but at least it looks good.”

on reddit the comments are less humorous, but also report severe problems with the servers:

• comfycal: “Yes, it’s annoying to be confronted with all these error messages – ‘server interrupted’, ‘player already logged in’ and the error code. I hit cancel on all 3 reports and spammed until I got queued (via reddit).”
• xxNuke: “Two in the morning in the middle of the week and the EU queues are huge. What on earth… (via reddit)”
• demondus: “I have limited game time so waiting 30 minutes to play doesn’t do me any good. Too bad, I would have liked to try it too (via reddit).”
• raininggalaxy: “I’m not sure if the servers are down or if too many people are trying to log in (via reddit).”
