The highly anticipated anime MMORPG Tower of Fantasy has been playable in the West since August 11th. As is not uncommon with new games, it still has some teething problems. A Twitch streamer now showed a particularly absurd bug that evokes memories of Paper Mario.

Players share the most unusual bugs

This is how the launch went: When it launched globally on August 11, 2022, there was a huge run on the servers. After all, the game had over 4 million pre-registrations. This led to long waiting times and frustration.

What’s the status now? More and more players are now online and exploring the huge game world. In doing so, they keep encountering sometimes absurd bugs, which they share on social media.

This is the craziest bug: Twitch streamer Robbert “SivHD” Eijndhoven, whom some of you may remember as a LoL YouTuber, revealed a particularly insane bug. You can see it in this clip:

This is behind the clip: One of SivHD’s weapons can transform into a turret in turret mode. Every time his character exits this mode, he seems to get a little narrower. SivHD repeated this until his character was completely flattened.

In the side view, the character suddenly has a bald head. But it gets really crazy when SivHD lets his character look straight ahead. Then he is in the truest sense of the word just a line in the landscape.

These are the reactions: The chat laughed with the streamer. Some quipped: “Slim Shady” or “Paper Tower.” When asked by a viewer if SivHD had just lost his mind or if the discovery would add anything to the game, the viewer joked:

It is important! Because if I approach an opponent now, they won’t see me coming. […] I can sneak up on people.

How does the bug work? What exactly causes the phenomenon is not yet known. However, it seems to have something to do with the animation the character uses to exit turret mode. It is compressed a bit to create the impression of fast movement.

What other bugs are there? Some players just fall through the floor and land under the map. Other catapult themselves straight into the endgame, without having to bother with the story. Still others will just very large.

What the developers say: Hotta Studio is aware of the problems and promises to work on solutions as quickly as possible. They thank the players for their trust and announce compensation in the form of in-game currencies. (via Tower of Fantasy)
