Haikyu!! – The hit anime will conclude with two feature films
With Haikyu!! In recent years, a volleyball-themed sports anime has had a truly meteoric rise experienced. The anime series of Production IG (“Psycho-Pass” series) played its way into the hearts of numerous fans with its sympathetic characters and grippingly staged matches. Well became the finale of the anime hit in the form of two films announced.

With to date over 55 million manga volumes sold the volleyball adventure is one of the most successful sports manga series of all time. The popularity of the work created by mangaka Haruichi Furudate also served as a template for a 4 season anime serieswhich was created in the renowned animation studio Production IG.
It is currently unclear whether the company will also be responsible for the two upcoming “Haikyu!!” anime feature films not yet known. The same applies to a possible release date. Further details are to be revealed at a kick-off event in August 2023.

Away from the hustle and bustle of the trade fair, we were able to talk to the three members of the band in San Jose, California. Since Season 2 of the Haikyu!! anime, several of the group’s songs have been featured on the show, including Phoenix, the theme song of Season 4 “To The Top”. Singer Kazuumi Kumagai told us how these collaborations came about.
Kumagai-san explained to us that in some cases her label approached the bandto inform them about a possible project of this kind. Burnout Syndromes would usually occur though with many other artists compete for such a job. In order to finally receive the commitment, the respective template must be studied and then create a suitable song will.
At the end the song is selected that best suit the anime series would. “So we want to make sure that we create a quality song that not only fits the anime, but also resonates around the world.”Kumagai-san explains in this regard.
Incidentally, “Haikyu!!” is associated with burnout syndromes a very special experience. When we asked if there would be an anime that would mean a lot to the band personally, Bassist replied Hiroshi Ishikawa instantly: “For me it’s definitely Haikyu!!. I mean it was our first time on such a big stage, our big debut so to speak, and you only get that once in a lifetime.”
