Vtuber can transform their streaming avatar into all sorts of characters on Twitch and other live streaming platforms. For the first time, companies like Kellogg’s see this as an opportunity to advertise their product in a new way. In a first-of-its-kind collaboration, Kellogs is introducing their company mascot, Tony the Tiger, as Vtuber on the live streaming platform Twitch.

In 2022, Vtuber conquered the Twitch streaming platform. Instead of showing themselves in front of the camera, streamers use motion capture software and similar technologies to (mostly) pose as an anime character that mimics the streamer’s movements and facial expressions in real time. On August 19, 2022, a company will use this trend for the first time on Twitch.

Breakfast cereal producer Kellogg’s has partnered with Twitch’s Brand Partnership Studio. Kellogg’s corporate mascot Tony the Tiger will make his streaming debut, making Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes the first brand in the world to partner with Twitch to transform a brand mascot into an interactive VTuber.

And what does a company mascot do on Twitch all day?

This takes advertising on Twitch to a whole new level. Instead of viewers placing advertisements, companies get an entire stream. It doesn’t look like Kellogg’s Tony the Tiger will become a full-time streamer, though. Under twitch.tv/tonythetiger will be the Kellogg’s mascot along with Twitch streamers Brennon”GoldGlove“O’Neill, Chrissy Costanza (chrissyofficial) and Jakeem “Big Cheese“Johnson is said to be playing a popular Battle Royale game.

“Together with Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes, we’re producing a made-for-the-Twitch-community live experience that introduces a beloved character to well-known Twitch streamers, fosters a healthy dose of competition, and encourages viewers to interact with Tony the Tiger in real-time in chat”. – Adam Harris, Twitch Head of Brand Partnership

The crazy gaming PC should also be shown in the stream, which is said to be cooled with milk. It will be interesting to see how the Twitch community will welcome an advertising figure as a streamer on the platform. Recently, more and more commercial breaks are being played before and during Twitch streams.
