AMD’s new processor generation Ryzen 7000 is just around the corner and a preliminary example of the eight-core Ryzen 7 7700X has now been photographed to match.

The photo that has appeared already shows what the final version of the CPU is likely to look like. Noisy Videocardz.com It’s the first time AMD’s logo and model name have been laser engraved on a processor from AMD’s upcoming Ryzen 7000 series. The sample has the OPN code “100-000000593”, which confirms previous rumors that it is indeed the Ryzen 7 7700X.

While the photo first in Anandtech.com forum surfaced, hardware expert “SkyJuice” from Angstronomics.com pointed out on Twitter that the processor photographed also bears the “D” mark, indicating that it is a pre-release version and possibly a test sample, which is not intended for trade. In terms of the calendar week, the production date is meanwhile at the end of June or beginning of July.

Release next month

According to the information so far, the Ryzen 7 7700X is an 8-core, 16-thread CPU with a boost of up to 5.4 GHz and a 105-watt TDP, while the larger 12- and 16-core Ryzen 9 models are up to 170 Watt should come. Previous rumors have suggested a retail price of $299, which would make the model the same price as the previous Ryzen 7 5700X model.

In addition to the Ryzen 7 7700X, the models Ryzen 5 7600X (6C/12T), Ryzen 9 7900X (12C/24T) and Ryzen 9 7950X (16C/24T) are said to appear for the release. The official launch of the Ryzen 7000 series is scheduled for August 29th or August 30th (CET), while the market launch is expected for the end of September.
