Bethesda rows back: Probably no Starfield at Gamescom!
Gamescom starts in just a few days, and although some publishers have already dropped out, visitors to the fair can still expect some interesting things. For example, Bethesda is also taking part in this year’s Gamescom. In the accompanying blog post, the company explained that fans can look forward to gameplay for the new RPG Starfield and Arkane’s new project Redfall, and a hands-on session for Fallout 76 was also planned. There should also be a few surprises and goodies.
But no gameplay for Starfield at Gamescom
With gameplay set to Starfield one of the most anticipated games of the near future, surely many fans have been looking forward to the upcoming Gamescom, but so have a few resourceful Reddit users discovered, Bethesda was probably a little too hasty with her statement. Of the blog post has meanwhile been revised and both Redfall and Starfield have been removed from the program.
Gamescom visitors can’t look forward to gameplay for the new Bethesda titles this year, but at least Microsoft has a few other interesting games to look at. For example, Obsidian Entertainment will also be making an appearance with their survival game Grounded, among others, and some third-party games such as Disney Dreamlight Valley will be featured at Gamescom.
We’ll have to wait a little longer for more information about Starfield, but at least as far as Redfall is concerned, we only recently received one 20 minute video about the creation of the title. No Arkane fan should miss this deep dive. Both Starfield and Redfall were originally scheduled for release later this year, but were pushed back to 2023.
