Fortnite: Speculations about a possible crossover with Lord of the Rings

from Rhonda Bachman
Are the Fortnite developers currently hinting at a coming crossover with Tolkien’s Middle-earth? A sand castle in the Battle Royale title is said to change regularly in the current season and is currently showing a large hole in the castle wall. Some Fortnite fans are sure that this can only be Helm’s Deep from Lord of the Rings.

What are the Fortnite developers planning next for the Battle Royale title? According to some players, a sandcastle could provide the answer to this question. Because they believe that Epic Games could announce an upcoming crossover with the castle. According to them, the sandcastle now looks like Helm’s Deep from 2002’s The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.

Is the Rock Kid recreating the Battle of Helm’s Deep?

The possible nod that Fortnite fans are currently talking about is on one of the island’s beaches. Rock Kid is currently building a sandcastle there, which has been repeatedly modified and expanded over the course of the current season. One of the last changes deals with the castle wall, which now shows a big hole.

According to the fans, this new hole is supposed to be proof that the sandcastle is Helm’s Deep. The hole in the sand wall is said to be in the same place as it was in the 2002 film The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. In the fantasy film, the castle wall is breached by the sorcerer Saruman’s Urak-hai and Orc troops.

A crossover with the fantasy world of the popular author Tolkien would actually fit quite well at the moment. Finally, on September 2nd, the series The Lord of the Rings – Rings of Power will be released by Amazon. But recently the Swedish Embracer Group announced the takeover of Middle-earth Enterprises. This would leave a catalog of “intellectual property and worldwide rights” in motion pictures, video games, board games, merchandising, theme parks and stage productions related to JRR Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. However, the deal hasn’t been finalized yet, which could potentially put video game appearances on hold for now.
