Activision Blizzard: Saudi Arabia approves deal with Microsoft

Saudi Arabia is the first market to approve Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard.

Microsoft has now achieved success in taking over Activision Blizzard in Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi authorities have approved the purchase of the parent company of Diablo and Call of Duty and have not objected to the takeover by the Microsoft group.

So writes the General Competition Authority of Saudi Arabia:

“The General Competition Authority announces that it has no objections to the completion of the economic concentration process between:

– Microsoft Corporation
– Activision Blizzard, Inc.”

However, other markets, including the US and the EU, still need to give their approval before the final takeover.
