PS5: Sony increases prices – console in Europe 50 euros more expensive

from Sebastian Glanzer
Sony has decided that due to currency trends and inflation, the PlayStation 5 will become more expensive in select markets in Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA), Asia Pacific (APAC), Latin America (LATAM) and Canada. In Europe, the disc version of the Playstation 5 will cost €549.99. In the US, the price remains the same as before.

Jim Ryan, President & CEO of Sony announced in a official blog postthat the price of the Playstation 5 will increase significantly in many parts of the world. Reasons include rising inflation and currency exchange rates in some countries. For example, the euro has weakened significantly against the dollar in recent months. That’s one factor why the Playstation 5 Disc version in Europe will cost €549.99 and the Digital Edition – €449.99.
