Yesterday, August 24, 2022, first we had you from the official announcement of The Lords of the Fallen reported. Today, thanks to an article on the official playstation blog by Creative Director Cezar Virtosu, who is working with his team at Hexworks on the Unreal Engine 5 reboot of the 2014 action RPG of almost the same name. In the following we have summarized the most important findings for you.
Fight your way through the worlds of the living and the dead
In The Lords of the Fallen we explore both the realm of the living and the nightmarish world of the dead that coexist. Our goal is to overthrow Adyr, the tyrannical demon god. On our journey we are armed with a lantern of hideous power, granting its wielder the ability to travel between the two worlds. But it is much more than just a key to both realms: we can use the lantern to reach forgotten places, recover fabled treasures and even manipulate the souls of our enemies.
The Lords of the Fallen is Soulslike, but the theme of resurrection works a little differently: if we die in the world of the living…then we’ll be resurrected in the world of the dead. We now have one last chance to regain our living form. But now all kinds of creatures from the depths of hell are breaking in on us – which is also shown in the first CGI trailer.
Online co-op, character development, battles
We can complete the entire adventure of The Lords of the Fallen with a friend in online co-op. There should even be rewards for completing community events. The downside: Heroes from other realms can and will challenge us. According to the developers, we have hundreds of unique weapons available for combat. Alternatively, we can use arcane magic to destroy our enemies. Furthermore, it should be possible to customize the appearance of the character. The total of nine main classes provide further variance. You can further customize your playstyle by upgrading stats, weapons, armor, and spells.
