Train Sim World 3: The power is in the hands of the players

Activision Blizzard: Phil Spencer pleased with acquisition progress

The future of train simulation is upon us – on September 6th, Train Sim World 3 will be available on Xbox Game Pass.

Train Sim World 3 arrives with new features, new routes and improvements all included in Train Sim World 3, there are three words that sum up what train simulation fans can expect: freedom, power and weather.

Power defines trains, railroads and locomotives around the world as they haul endless lines of boxcars and carry passengers at high speeds over long distances. Train Sim World 3 contains some impressive, powerful
Locomotives and units that the Dovetail Games team have worked hard to ensure players can experience the sights and sounds of the real world.

UK POWER: On the game’s UK route, performance translates directly to speed as players take control of Britain’s fastest domestic passenger service between London St Pancras and Ashford International. Southeastern Highspeed uses the Class 395 ‘Javelin’ EMU which, while traveling 140 miles per hour from the capital, draws overhead power before heading through Medway for the slower, winding sections of the city Faversham switches to third rail power. These impressive railcars bear the names of famous British Olympians, expressing their speed and power in the real world.

GERMANY POWER: The high-speed route Kassel – Würzburg, the German route of Train Sim World 3, also converts electrical energy at high speed thanks to the iconic ICE trains. Players can accelerate both the ICE 1 and ICE 3 to a breathtaking 280 kilometers per hour. However, it is crucial to keep this performance in check. Massive viaducts and dynamic weather affect the handling of these trains, as do long tunnels to negotiate between Kassel, Fulda and Würzburg. Freight trains can also be operated in the game, running between the high-speed passenger trains and running late into the night.

USA POWER: American locomotives have always been powerful, larger and noisier than their European counterparts. Train Sim World 3 transports players to Cajon Pass in California, where some of the steepest grades require full throttle going uphill and careful braking going downhill. BNSF’s 4400 hp ES44C4, along with the SD40-2 locomotives, haul some of the longest trains in the US over this demanding route between San Bernadino and Barstow, often in multiples
used to offer drivers in the cab even more power.

DELUXE: STEAM POWER: In Train Sim World 3: Deluxe Edition, players can experience a form of power like no other, with an updated version of the popular Spirit of Steam add-on included in this release. Nothing says power like the hissing, steaming presence of the LMS 8F and Jubilee locomotives as they prepare to take both passenger and freight services from Liverpool Lime Street to the famous railway town of Crewe.

Enormous development achievement: Bringing this feat to screens was hugely important to Train Sim World 3, and players can not only feel the power behind these trains, but see the hissing sparks and crackling pantographs of the game’s electric trains. Realistic and multi-layered game sounds simulating everything from the screech of brakes to the squeaking of cars that blast through the speakers with raw power, enriching the gaming experience – big sounds for big trains!
