SONY: Mobile studio acquired Savage Game

Activision Blizzard: Phil Spencer pleased with acquisition progress

Sony has brought a mobile game developer on board with Savage Game Studios.

Today Sony announced the acquisition of Savage Game Studios. The developer of games for the mobile market has two locations in Europe, Berlin and Helsinki, and was only founded in 2020.

At the same time, the PlayStation Studios Mobile Division was founded, which will operate independently of the console market.

Following the acquisition, Sony said of its plans to reach the community through new audiences:

“As we’ve assured you with our plans to bring select titles to PC, our efforts beyond console in no way diminish our commitment to the PlayStation community or our passion for continuing to deliver great single-player experiences with a compelling story develop …”

“Our mobile gaming activities will be similarly complementary in nature, providing more opportunities for more people to interact with our content. They also support our efforts to reach new audiences who are not yet familiar with PlayStation and our games. Savage Game Studios will be part of a newly created PlayStation Studios Mobile Division that will operate independently of our console development and focus on innovative on-the-go experiences based on new and existing PlayStation IP.”

Savage Game Studios is currently working on a previously unannounced mobile action game with live service content.
