EA and Koei Tecmo team up for AAA hunting game set in Feudal Japan

Electronic Arts and Koei Tecmo have teamed up to work on a new AAA project. The action role-playing game is set to become a completely new IP. This is a partnership that surprises and arouses curiosity, because EA has rarely worked with Japanese studios on the same project.

The publisher already reveals that in this game you will immerse yourself in feudal Japan, which is peppered with a few fantasy elements. More information will be available later this month.

This hunting game is made by the development team of Omega Force, a Koei Tecmo studio known for the Warriors franchise. The EA Originals label, which recently had a huge success with the release of It Takes Two, also has its capable fingers in the game.

We are honored to partner with EA Originals and have the support of a team with an incredible track record of releasing groundbreaking new games,” said Yosuke Hayashi, Executive Vice President of Koei Tecmo in a press release.

EA gives the studio free rein and supports the development with its resources. “By combining EA’s global resources with our own, we can bring a new breed of hunting game to a global audience and expand our reach into global markets,” says Hayashi.

According to Jeff Gamon, General Manager of EA Partners, Omega Force has “revolutionized the hunting genre” and has a “proven talent for engaging combat systems and gameplay with unexpected and innovative gameplay mechanics.”
