Geforce RTX 4090, 4080 and 4070: Nvidia has been storing the graphics cards since August [Gerücht]

from Oliver Jaeger
As the website Tweaktown claims to have learned, citing sources from Taiwan, Nvidia has been stacking Geforce RTX 4090, 4080 and 4070 graphics cards in Taiwanese warehouses since August. The presentation of the first Ada GPUs can be expected at the GTC next week.

In all likelihood, Nvidia will unravel the mystery of the next generation of graphics cards on September 20th, when CEO Jensen Huang again delivers his infamous keynote. To fuel the anticipation, Nvidia also showed two teasers, #ProjectBeyond and Beyond Geforce, which actually leave no doubt about the presentation. Meanwhile, the rumor mill believes that Nvidia will then unveil its first three Geforce RTX 4000 models – 4090, 4080 and 4070.

In Taiwan, Nvidia’s warehouses have been filled with new Ada GPUs since August

According to the latest information, this also seems to be realistic, because according to the sources of the website Tweaktown, Nvidia’s warehouses in Taiwan are filled with GPUs of the Geforce RTX 4090, 4080 and 4070 models. This condition is said to have prevailed since August. That would fit with statements from Chinese GPU suppliers, who said in late July that they would receive their first batches of Nvidia’s upcoming graphics cards in August. At that time, however, it was also said that the Geforce RTX 4090 would be released in August and the RTX 4080 in September.

However, full stocks of current-generation Ampere cards made this schedule impossible, so Nvidia massively reduced the prices of its high-end models and offered them in bundles with Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered. Imminent supply uncertainties with Nvidia’s graphics cards, however, do not seem to be a problem with such news about full warehouses. The mid-range GPU Geforce RTX 4060 could then be presented at CES in January 2023.

The Ada flagship, the Geforce RTX 4090, has also been photographed several times. On the one hand, there have been pictures of a rounded model from Zotac including a box in the past few days. On the other hand, there was a gaming OC model from Gigabyte, also with a box. Most recently, a Geforce RTX 4090 in the quad-slot design from Lenovo, installed in a PC from the manufacturer, could be examined.
