Return to Monkey Island – Critic’s Hour – Video

It is not a dream nor a fantasy of children playing: Ron Gilbert continues the series about the charmingly goofy junior pirate Guybrush Threepwood. In Return to Monkey Island this time it should really be about what the secret of the eponymous island is.

In the hour of the critics, Heinrich and Hagen are now accompanying Guybrush back to the Caribbean – with the beginning initially picking a thread Monkey Island 2 – LeChuck’s Revenge picks up. Heinrich still remembers well how he experienced the surprising turn of events and would like a resolution. Hagen has so far only The Secret of Monkey Island made up for and is not hopelessly confused, above all, because he already noticed that he should find out a bit about the second part. Otherwise, the two approach the point-and-click adventure with their own references to the series in a completely uninhibited manner (although not directly enthusiastic about the graphic style) and let themselves be surprised from the first hour. At the end of the approximately 60-minute playing time, each of the two reveals individually: Will he continue to track down the secret of Monkey Island with Guybrush after the start or would he prefer math tutoring so that he doesn’t always have to guess the value of Pi.
