On the evening of September 22, the open started Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Beta. Shortly before, developer Infinity Ward published both the minimum requirements and the recommended system requirements for the PC version of the upcoming first-person shooter – and compared to other current games they are relatively humane.

All PCs require a current version of Windows 10 or 11 64-bit to play Modern Warfare 2. A broadband internet connection is logically required for the multiplayer. The required storage space is basically low at 25 gigabytes – all others PC requirements for Modern Warfare 2 see the following overview.

  • CPU
    • Minimum: Intel i5-3570 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X
    • Recommended: Intel i7-4770K or AMD Ryzen 7 1800X
  • random access memory
    • Minimum: 8 GB RAM
    • Recommended: 16GB RAM
  • graphic card
    • At least: Geforce GTX 960 or Radeon RX 580
    • Recommended: Geforce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 580
  • video memory
    • Minimum: 3 GB VRAM
    • Recommended: 6GB VRAM
  • Storage space: 25GB
  • DirectX version: 12

With regard to the graphics driver, Infinity Ward recommends the current version: For Nvidia owners, this currently amounts to version number 516.59, the AMD counterpart is version 22.9.1. DirectX 12 should also be on board. As previously suggested by various users who had access to an early multiplayer version of Modern Warfare 2 last week, the game will support Nvidia’s DLSS as well as AMD’s equivalent, Fidelity FX.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will be released worldwide on October 28, 2022. In addition to the PC version, the first-person shooter will be released for the current console generation around Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S as well as for the predecessors PS4 and Xbox One.
