PlayStation 5: YouTuber introduces the console’s DevKit
Sony shouldn’t like that: YouTuber Macho Nacho has come into possession of a PS5 developer kit and shows the design and functions of the rare hardware in detail in a video.
The design of the Playstation developer kit was haunting the internet long before the official look of the retail version. At first it was assumed that the final version of the console could also have this unusual look – as is well known, nothing came of it.
Connections, features and more
YouTuber Mach Nacho got hold of one of the developer consoles in a roundabout way and shows in his video in detail what the box looks like, which connections are available and makes a big secret out of a compartment below the console.
For security reasons, he taped various pieces of data, such as the serial number and other revealing details, so that Sony couldn’t find out about him. Particularly unusual is the screen built into the developer console, which displays additional content while playing an early version of the game.
Here, too, the YouTuber has to blur the ads to avoid being discovered. Finally, the dev kit is connected to a television and the menu that then pops up is also shown briefly.
