The third season of the hit series “The Witcher”, which is based on the book and game templates, is scheduled to be available on Netflix next summer. It is about a plot against Ciri and while Geralt must protect her, Yenefer tries to find out more about her powers. Read more about this below.

A few weeks ago it was announced that the third season of the popular Netflix series “The Witcher” has been shot and the post-processing is now beginning, at the end of which the season can be released. At the end of the shooting, the main actor Henry Cavill, who embodies Geralt von Rivia in the series, thanked everyone involved with postcards. The third season of the series focuses on Ciri, played by Freya Allen on the series.

It is necessary to protect her against a bundle of dark powers, while the sorceress Yenefer wants to find out more about Ciri’s hidden powers in order to be able to train her in them. Now, one would think that the three months left until Christmas should be enough time to process the show’s footage to release Season 3, like the previous two seasons, during the holiday season. Apparently that’s not possible and as part of the Tudum live stream, Netflix announced that the season would be released in summer 2023. The waiting time for the third season is still shorter than that for the second season, which was a full two years.

There’s also no official trailer for Season 3 yet, but the company has revealed a glimpse into the filming of an action scene starring Ciri on a boat for fans to look forward to. The plot loosely follows the second part of the Witcher books, Season of Scorn. The fortress of Aretuza will play a major role and a major political conflict around Ciri is imminent.
