When is the release? The official release of WotLK Classic is at 00:00 on September 27th. So in the night from Monday to Tuesday. The time corresponds to 12 am CEST as can be seen on the Blizzard overview map.

New class: The Death Knight is the new class that you could already level in the prepatch. There are Death Knights with Frost, Blood, and Unholy specializations in the talent trees. If you create a new death knight, you start directly at level 55. You can create one death knight per realm without any requirements.

New continent: WotLK’s journey takes you to Northrend. On the snowy continent you will meet the armies of the Lich King, who have settled in many places. The fight against the undead is the focus of dungeons and raids.

New profession: The new profession of inscription begins for you in WotLK Classic. By grinding herbs, you can create pigments and daru’s ink, which are used to create glyphs and more. With glyphs you can enhance or change abilities. Anyone can use the glyphs and purchase them from Inscriptionists or the Auction House.

The starting zones and map: You can start leveling in Northrend in two different starting zones.

  • The Borean Tundra
  • The Howling Fjord

Both areas are suitable for leveling from level 68 to 72. Even if you haven’t reached level 70 in TBC Classic yet, you can go to Northrend at level 68 and start leveling there.

Where is PvP? There will be regular battles in the Wintergrasp territory, with Alliance and Horde fighting for temporary dominance of the territory. Every three hours you will receive a notification in the outskirts of Wintergrasp and also in the capital city of Dalaran that the Battle for Wintergrasp is about to begin. If you are outside, you will be invited to the queue. Those in Dalaran can speak to an NPC to join the queue.

The battle will be instanced. Similar to what you know from Alterac Valley.

As the lead developers explained to us in an interview, there is still open PvP in Wintergrasp. Although you only see the actual fortress for your faction, insofar as a member of your faction and on your server has won the battle, but the outer areas with elementals and co. remain open to everyone.
