Next week: Rising Hell and Slain: Back from Hell

Can this be coincidence? From 6.10. attract two free games at Epic Games with a “Hell” in the name. Slain: Back from Hell promises to be heavy metal-inspired arcade combat with puzzle elements and lots of blood. “Breathtaking graphics and true old-school gameplay accompanied by the best metal soundtrack you’ve ever heard” – those are pretty steep targets. The whole thing is not entirely new, because Slain: Back from Hell was already released on March 25th, 2016 and gets a “largely positive” rating (71 percent) from the competitor Steam. The hardware requirements are more of a joke.

Significantly newer, but less well-known, is Hell’s Game number 2. Rising Hell is a vertical platformer rogue-lite that’s “filled with adrenaline-pumping action and tons of heavy gothic scraps of metal.” Ah, so metal again. And what do you do in Rising Hell? “Climb out of the ever-changing hell as you fight hordes of bloodthirsty demons”. The whole thing seems to be fun, however, because 91 percent approval is “very positive”. Release was in May 2021.
