Sony Interactive Entertainment plans to release a remake of the PS4 title Horizon Zero Dawn for PlayStation 5.

That’s according to a report from MP1ST. It is claimed that the updated version of Guerrilla Games’ 2017 title will feature upgraded visuals to bring it on par with this year’s sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, in the form of new character models, lighting, and animations.

Furthermore, it is stated that the new version of Zero Dawn will add accessibility features, graphics modes, and quality of life improvements to the game itself.

Re-releases of recent hit games aren’t a new trend for PlayStation: the platform holder has already released multiple remasters and remakes for PS5, including Spider-Man, Ghost of Tsushima, Uncharted 4, and The Last of Us.

A PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn was released in 2020 with improved draw distance and higher frame rates, but mostly reused assets and features from the PS4 version. Furthermore, the report states that Guerilla Games is currently working on a Horizon multiplayer game for PS5 and PC.
