PlayStation VR2: Mass production has allegedly started – Sony is planning to launch so many devices

According to a new report, Sony plans to provide two million copies of PlayStation VR2 for the launch period.

As Bloomberg reports that they plan to make two million devices available by March 2023.

A bigger success than its predecessor?

The figures indicate that Sony is expecting a better start than previously for PlayStation VR2.

After the release of PlayStation VR in October 2016, it took seven months to sell one million units.

There is no official release date for PlayStation VR2 so far, most recently Sony spoke of “early 2023”.

According to Bloomberg, mass production of the PSVR2 headsets began in September and is not expected to be impacted by supply chain bottlenecks.

A slight improvement in PS5 availability is also expected by early 2023, so the release of PSVR2 could potentially boost sales of the headset and console.

According to Sony, more than 20 games should be available for the launch of PSVR2. However, the new headset is not compatible with PSVR games.
