We remember: At the end of the finale of the second part of the eleventh season of The Walking Dead, the survivors from Alexandria and Hilltop were scattered again. While one group faced off against would-be ursupator Lance Hornsby and his men, the other sought to destabilize the Commonwealth from within. The group around Daryl, Maggie, Gabriel, Aaron and Negan clearly has the bigger problems at the moment. They barely hold off against Lance Hornsby and the outnumbered Commonwealth troops until Daryl finally has the idea of ​​using Negan for a diversionary tactic.

Of course, Lance Hornsby doesn’t like that at all, but the now-armed Daryl once again manages to make short work of a numerically superior group. He could have almost killed Lance, but in the end it’s more important to him that Negan survives.

The situation of Carol and the other survivors in the Commonwealth seems to be a little better. Although Connie’s article on Sebastian Milton’s activities never directly accuses him of killing innocent citizens, a protest march has formed demanding Sebastian Milton’s head. Together with Yumiko, Pamela Milton tries to de-escalate the situation with little success. That could also be because while Mercer has the safety of Commonwealth citizens on his mind, his loyalty to Pamela Milton has also been greater at one time. She falters even more when Negan shows up and tells Mercer about the situation at the gates of the Commonwealth. By circumventing a few rules, Mercer lets Negan into the Commonwealth, where he searches for Carol to hatch a plan with her.

Eventually, the two decide to search for and find Sebastian Milton themselves before Lance Hornsby’s agents track down the children of the Alexandrian survivors. After poring over a few documents, they can do it too. After a few incidents, they hand Sebastian over to Pamela Milton on the condition that she helps them stop Lance Hornsby. Because he could be the perfect scapegoat, taking all the blame away from the Milton family.

Meanwhile, Hornsby is still on the hunt for Daryl and the others, but they ambushed his squad. Finally there is a showdown. Daryl manages to put a knife under Lance’s throat, but his troops still have their guns trained on the survivors. Meanwhile, the situation within the Commonwealth continues to deteriorate. Because a huge horde of zombies is running towards its gates, a lockdown is triggered.
